Our Staff
We are aware that the skills and dedication of our support workers are essential to the quality of the support that we provide. We highly value our staff and are committed to their ongoing training, job satisfaction and development. We provide our own in-house training to our care staff, giving us control over the quality and relevance of content and topics covered.
We also make use of external training partners to cover more advanced areas of learning.
All our staff of nurses and domiciliary carers are carefully interviewed, selected and trained to provide home care services to persons such as the ill, disabled, those with impaired learning abilities, or other individuals for whom home care is essential.
All our employees are also carefully screened and undergo a Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) check and have their references and their training records carefully checked, before they can be offered work assignments.
Whilst we do our own in-house induction training and periodic refresher training for support workers, we also have a partnership in place with an accredited trainer to provide Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), aimed at providing carers with a greater understanding of their role as support workers.
We also arrange for specialist training provided by local authorities and health bodies when circumstances or equipment are such that further training and support is required.
Many of our carers work consistently with our clients over long periods of time, nurturing a trusting, bonding relationship with them. Often the clients express a clear preference for having particular carers assigned to them, and of course schedules permitting, we are very happy to oblige when this is requested.
